High Peak MP to receive nearly £55k “Golden Handshake”

High Peak MP Tom Levitt, 55, is to receive nearly £55,000 when he stands down at the General Election.

The sum is equivalent to around 84 per cent of his MP salary of which no tax is paid on the first £30,000.

MPs have been criticised for claiming £88m expenses on top of the £60,675 they each receive in salary
